Bringing Parks to Life: A Bespoke Marketing Approach for Summer in the Park

The bespoke marketing approach for Summer in the Park (SITP) utilised artistic design by Greenwich resident Keith Hau to foster a deep sense of place and community pride within Gallion Park, Queenscroft Park, Cygnet Square and Maryon Park. By commissioning a local artist to create custom illustrations of each park, SITP transformed these recreational spaces into celebrated cultural venues, highlighted on flyers and posters throughout the community. This artistic touch not only enhanced promotional materials but also reinforced a collective sense of ownership and belonging among residents. The distinct visuals served as a reminder that these spaces are vibrant stages for community celebration and connection, not just areas for everyday recreation.

Feedback from the community underscored the success of this unique approach. One attendee shared, “Seeing Gallion Park represented so beautifully on posters made me feel proud to bring my family to the event. It truly captured the essence of our community.” Another resident, reflecting on Queenscroft Park’s depiction, noted, “The artwork made me see our park in a new light—it felt special, like it was ours to celebrate.” Meanwhile, a regular visitor to Maryon Park expressed appreciation for how the artistic design showcased the space: “I’ve been coming to Maryon Park for years, but the design brought it to life in a way I’ve never seen. It made the event feel like something extraordinary.”

The custom illustrations became powerful symbols for SITP’s Family Community Picnics, creating anticipation and connection among attendees. By infusing artistic storytelling into marketing, SITP fostered a renewed appreciation for these parks as cultural gathering spots, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
